About Me
My name Simon and I am the Head Honcho here at Derby Driving Academy. I've been a fully qualified ADI (approved driving instructor) since February 2007. Yes, the chances are whoever is reading this will have just been born which makes me feel extremely old. Not to alienate the more mature person wanting to drive I will regularly have 80s FM softly playing in the background. Please excuse my horrendous singing voice!
So, what can you expect from me and our driving lessons? I understand that starting to drive can be a nervy experience so first thing is first “Sorry” is a banned word! I’m expecting chaos, mayhem and plenty of choice words so please, embrace the experience. I can assure you I have seen and heard far worse. Yes, having fun will always be part of my teaching style but ultimately you’re paying me to teach you to drive so when it’s time to switch on and concentrate I will make sure it happens. My job is to make sure you’re as safe as possible to drive independently as quickly as you can.
My Guarantee
Now for a guarantee. I take my job seriously so will give you my assurance that I will be as consistent as humanly possible. The only time I might have to consider a cancellation will be the following:
- I have severe man flu.
- My engine is on fire.
- One of my cats is stuck on the house roof.
- My wife suffered a broken leg falling off said roof trying to save the cat - but then God made crutches for a reason and what point us BOTH sat in an NHS waiting room for hours on end?
What Do I Expect From You?
Now, what do I expect from you? If you have a provisional licence, can read a number plate from 20 metres, know your left from your right (use of marker pen available free of charge if necessary), smell nice and don't suffer from narcolepsy we're already off to a good start.
Need to cancel? Sometimes life gets in the way, right? I understand emergencies happen (especially if you own cats) but I would appreciate where possible that if you do have to cancel you give me at least 48 hours notice so I can fit in another student.
